Somali Taekwondo was established in 1997 and is the National Governing Body for the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) Taekwondo in the Somali Federal Republic. Somali Taekwondo Federation is responsible for the preparation, management, the identification and development of new Somali youth talent.
Somali Taekwondo is an established and renowned federation throughout the World Taekwondo Africa and also is member of World Taekwondo Federation and Somali Olympic Committee.
Somali Taekwondo continued aim is to increase participation in Taekwondo: promoting fitness and keeping active for all ages, and encouraging families to engage in the sport of taekwondo together. Engendering a sense of belonging for all, regardless of level or capability, with a focus on developing students to reach their maximum potential.
Athletes achieve a sense of being part of a modern, professional and inspirational Taekwondo organisation that feels equally accessible to novices and those with no desire to pursue a competitive taekwondo path, whilst also offering the highest standard of training for the competing athlete.
ClassesWe offer classes suitable for men, women and children (6 years+) of all abilities. We offer training suitable for athletes new to the sport, those returning to the sport, and from novice members through to accomplished athletes who compete at a national and international level. We also offer a structured and progressive route for athletes who wish to participate at all levels. However, Somali Taekwondo equally welcomes athletes whose main interest is to join the team where they can be assured of the best training available in order to reach their maximum potential, along with having fun, being part of a reputable organisation, and experiencing the other benefits that Taekwondo can bring.
